FAQ
Common questions before you request a proposal—scope, process, measurement and how we work with agencies. Also see our process and the capabilities overview.
Scope and capabilities
Which offsite lanes can you run together?
Editorial link building, digital PR, brand mention monitoring and reclaim, answer-engine citation work, review and listicle updates, linkable asset outreach, plus profile audits and disavow when needed. Most programs combine two or three lanes rather than running everything at once.
Do you handle on-page SEO or technical fixes?
Our work stays offsite. We coordinate with your in-house or agency team when a placement needs a landing page, UTM rules or indexation checks, but we do not replace technical SEO or content strategy inside your CMS.
Can you focus on a single money page or product line?
Yes. We often anchor a quarter around one category page, comparison URL or flagship product while still building broader brand signals that support AI answers and branded search.
Which verticals do you decline?
We pass on gambling, adult, pharma without clearance, crypto schemes and any brief that depends on PBNs, link farms or paid insertions without disclosure. We also decline niches where editorial coverage is effectively impossible.
Do you work internationally?
Yes. We pitch US, UK, EU, AU and other English-language markets routinely, and can align TLD and publisher targets when you need regional relevance rather than generic global links.
Proposals and pricing
Why is there no public price list?
Scope varies too much by niche, existing profile and competitive pressure. After intake we send a written proposal with activities, effort ranges, timelines and reporting—not a shopping cart.
What do you need before quoting?
Goals, priority URLs, current tools access or exports, competitor names, brand guidelines and any publisher blocklist. A short call usually fills gaps we cannot see from Search Console alone.
Can we start with a pilot before a retainer?
Often yes. Pilots are structured with clear deliverables—such as a mention audit plus ten reclaim attempts or a digital PR angle with a fixed publisher list—so both sides can judge fit before scaling.
How do you handle rush timelines?
We flag what is realistic. Listicle corrections and mention reclaims can move quickly; net-new digital PR and original research cannot. Rush fees apply only when we reallocate senior time to meet an agreed deadline.
Are link or placement fees included in your quote?
Editorial work is quoted as outreach and stewardship. If a publisher requires a sponsored fee, we disclose it before you approve spend. We do not mark up undisclosed paid placements as editorial links.
Timelines and results
When should we expect the first live URLs?
Mention reclaims and listicle updates often land in the first four to six weeks. Fresh editorial placements and digital PR typically need eight to twelve weeks because pitching cycles vary by outlet.
How long until rankings or AI citations move?
Some branded and long-tail terms react within a quarter. Competitive head terms usually need sustained referring-domain growth over two or more quarters. We set channel-specific expectations in the proposal.
Do you guarantee a number of links per month?
No. We guarantee process quality, transparent reporting and replacement attempts when placements drop without cause. Volume targets are planning guides, not invoices tied to arbitrary counts.
What slows campaigns down on the client side?
Delayed approvals, missing product proof, legal review bottlenecks and unclear positioning. We share a RACI up front so you know which delays are ours versus yours.
How do you treat seasonal businesses?
We front-load listicle and mention work before peak season and shift to digital PR or research when news cycles matter. Reporting compares year-over-year, not just month-over-month spikes.
Process and approvals
Will we see targets before you pitch?
Yes. You approve themes, DR or traffic floors, competitor adjacency rules and sensitive publishers. For regulated niches we use a pre-clear list before any outreach sends.
Who writes pitches and guest copy?
Our outreach team drafts pitches and, when needed, bylines or expert quotes. You review factual claims, product names and compliance language before anything leaves our outbox.
Can we supply our own target list?
Absolutely. We merge your list with ours, dedupe against existing links and flag targets that fail quality checks so you are not paying for duplicates or dead sites.
How do you handle rejected pitches?
We log reasons, adjust angles and move to the next tranche. Rejections feed a monthly retro so messaging improves instead of repeating the same subject lines.
Do you contact authors directly or only via forms?
Both, depending on the site. Mention reclaims usually go to authors or section editors; larger outlets may require PR inboxes. We track contact path in the CRM so follow-ups stay coherent.
Reporting and quality
What appears in a monthly report?
Live URLs, anchor text, referring-domain context, indexation status, mention notes, AI citation snapshots and next-month priorities. Exports can match your Looker or Sheets template.
How do you measure AI citation progress?
We run a fixed prompt set across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, log which sources appear, and note when your brand or URLs are cited versus competitors only.
What happens when a link disappears?
We attempt recovery with the editor first. If the page is gone or the link is permanently stripped, we propose a replacement that meets the same quality bar—not a weaker substitute to hit a count.
How do you define a quality placement?
Topical fit, indexable URL, real organic traffic, editorial context, clean outbound patterns and anchors that read naturally. We document the check in each row of the placement log.
Can reports be white labeled?
Yes for agency partners. Your logo, domain on shared links, client-safe language and separate Slack or email threads keep our team invisible when you need us to be.
Contracts and partnerships
Are engagements month-to-month?
Most retainers roll monthly after an initial planning period. Notice periods and scope change rules are written in plain language—no auto-renew traps or hidden annual minimums.
Can agencies resell your delivery?
Yes. White label is core to how we work with partners: your brand on comms, shared task boards and client-ready decks. We do not contact your clients unless you ask us to join a call.
Who owns the relationships with publishers?
Relationships stay with our team so continuity survives staff changes on either side. You receive full placement records and can request introductions when a direct relationship helps.
How do you handle confidential clients?
NDAs are standard. Case studies use anonymized metrics unless you approve naming. We never reuse your data angles for another client in the same category without clearance.
What is required to pause or wind down?
Written notice per contract, a handoff export of targets and live URLs, and optional training for your in-house team to maintain mention monitoring after we step back.
